This post contains information on a preproduction product. Specifications and information herein are subject to change without notice.
The Xtrinsic PRDTX11101 VCO+Tx is the industry’s first product in the market built on SiGe BiCMOS millimeter-wave technology for 77 GHz automotive adaptive cruise control and long-range radar applications as well as short-range automotive applications like blind spot detection and cross traffic alert.
The PRDTX11101 radar transmitter includes an on-chip frequency divider that provides outputs for frequency control. A special PA feature helps keep the current consumption on chip stable during activation and de-activation of the transmitted signal to avoid thermal drift of the oscillator signal. A peak power detector enables output power control via open and closed loops for maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the long-range radar. An on-chip temperature sensor enables application optimization by monitoring chip operating temperature. These features combined with the 77 GHz operating frequency and output power enable short (20m) to long (200m) range radar solutions for adaptive cruise control.
