77 GHz RADAR systems support adaptive cruise control, pre-crash protection and collision warning systems with and without automatic steering and braking intervention. In a collision warning system, the RADAR sensor can detect and track objects, automatically adjusting the vehicle’s speed and distance in response to the traffic ahead and triggering a driver warning of an imminent collision and initiate emergency braking intervention.
Freescale's high-performance dual-core Qorivva 32-bit MCUs, combined with Freescale's custom Xtrinsic RF 77 GHz radar technology (Silicon Germanium (SiGe) RADAR chipset), supports long, mid and short range functionality and provides high performance and leading edge integration capabilities. The scalable RADAR solution supports complex signal generation and processing, allowing one RADAR sensor to be used for multiple safety applications.
