Many in the automotive industry believe that the automobile will undergo more changes in the next 15 years than it has since its inception 125 year ago. The younger generation's demand for onboard connectivity and entertainment is making "always connected" an imperative. The need for fuel efficiency and emissions reduction creates a demand for sustainable vehicles with improved engine and emissions systems, hybrids, electric vehicles and electrification of subsystems such as brakes and heating. The need to minimize the cost and human impact of traffic fatalities globally is mandating new, cost-effective safety technologies.
