2013 Nissan 370Z - 2012 Chicago Auto Show

image

Displaying a bit more visual flash as  well as a handful of functional enhancements, the 2013 Nissan 370Z made  its debut appearance in Chicago. Returning for 2013 in the existing  Coupe, Roadster and Nismo Z configurations, this tastefully refined  version of the iconic Z-Car goes on sale in June. While Nissan execs  didn't reveal pricing or several other details at this preview, they did  outline all of the key changes we'll see when the car does hit U.S.  showrooms.

Save for the addition of Magma Red  and Midnight Blue to its exterior palette, the most visible variations  on the existing 370Z theme include a restyled front fascia that gains a  strip of vertical LED running lights flanking its grille and a red  reflector on the rear fascia that replaces the current black center trim  element. Beyond that, the 2013 370Z Coupe also gets new 18-inch alloy  wheels. Both Coupe and Roadster models fitted with the optional Sport  Package also feature restyled 19-inch alloy wheels and red-finished  brake calipers. On a functional front, Sport-spec cars receive new  Euro-turned shock absorbers.

Both the Coupe and Roadster will  continue to be available in base and Touring trim grades, all sharing  the existing 322-horsepower/3.7-liter V6 engine. The Coupes can be had  with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed automatic, but on  the Roadster front, only the Touring variant can be had with the  shift-for-yourself gearbox.

Although the NISMO 370Z doesn't get  the cosmetic changes its baseline brethren receive, this tuner-inspired  variant does sport new premium gun-metallic dark-finish 19-inch alloy  wheel wheels. Its stouter 350-horse V6 engine, close-ratio six-speed  manual shifter and competition-inspired body bits and track-ready  suspension tuning carry over as well, but new high-rigidity GT-R style  brake lines and high-performance fluid promise to add even more  confidence and consistency to its already superb stopping power. On the  creature-feature front, the NISMO 370Z also gains a new Bose Premium  Audio Package with two additional speakers and two subwoofers.
