Since the last time we caught up with HUDlog, CEO Gabriel Hercule and his team have been hard at work preparing for the final stretch of the Startupbootcamp IoT program - culminating in next Wednesday's Demo Day, the showcase event where they will present their business in front of a specially invited audience of over 300 partners, investors, customers and journalists.
In our latest interview, Gabriel reflects on his personal highlights from the Startupbootcamp IoT program, his expectations for Demo Day and his plans for the future of HUDlog after the program ends...
The race to the finish line...
"The final weeks of the Startupbootcamp IoT program have definitely been the most challenging" says Gabriel. "Demo day represents the moment the entire program has culminating towards - in which we get to pitch our business in front of a massive live audience. It's definitely a sprint to the finish at this stage..."
The evolution of HUDlog...
"When we joined the Startupbootcamp IoT program, our product was very rudimentary" explains Gabriel. "We didn't really have all of the necessary parts to make the real magic of the product work. Over the course of the program, we've had a lot of help from the CTO in residence alongside various UX and UI designers, so we could really focus on the design of the interface and of the hardware itself."
Working with the mentors has also opened up a small but significant shift in HUDlog's business model, through the creation of a tiered service system featuring Gold, Silver and Bronze packages to allow the customer to tailor the product's features to their individual needs and budget.
In terms of his personal highlight of the program, Gabriel credits the structure and detail it's added to his business model. "Startupbootcamp IoT allowed us to turn a rudimentary product into a brand and a business. That's our main takeaway from this experience."
The Future...
As Startupbootcamp IoT draws to a close, Gabriel and his team are looking forward to piloting their product on the streets of London. "We want to get HUDlog into parcel delivery vans and really start testing the product" he explains. "In doing that, we can figure out any additional tweaks and improvements and really take HUDlog to the next level..."
