Owners of fanless PC's may disagree with question 14.

Yep, seen many computers with a single fan (or none), and the way the question is worded makes it sounds like it's an absolute.

You are right, the world as a whole would benefit if more people considered long term environmental effects instead of dollars and cents.  Hopefully other companies and individuals follow this example.

Agreed.  It's great that the company where Javagoza works provides that opportunity.

I'm not sure of the costs or savings if there are any. It is not a policy that I have implemented or advised. But other aspects should be taken into account, first the reuse of hardware parts, the E-waste is a big problem in the EU and less than 40% is recycled. Another aspect is the availability of replacement parts, which we usually have in stock, mainly power supplies. In the event of a hardware problem, we are not dependent on a third party for repair. It is not a global policy of the company, only of the group of geeks who are dedicated to software development.

It's a nice learning experiencing for the new recruits I imagine.  At one time building your own PC saved you a lot of money.  As years went by this stopped being the case... and in some situations the reverse ends up being true.  So once the savings disappear so does the incentive to build your own PC.
