Took the quiz, I learned quite a bit, I never knew single pair was a thing, but now that I know I bet I can use it in a few projects at work. Its multidrop is very handy, and since its different enough…

"You nailed it, and scored 100%!" - not thanks to knowing beforehand about obscure facts buried deep into some datasheet, I have to say...

lj0000 Why would you make a statement like this. How much work have you done with it? CAN is very fault-tolerant. Some of the features that you might not know about are.

    • Fully Redundant (if you wish) image
    • HOT install removal from the chain.
    • and some transceivers are better than others.
    • CAN runs on a shielded twisted pair, not loose wires.  Shielded CAT-6 is very close.
    • CANaerospace rides on top of CAN (if it's so bad why do we use it in aircraft?)
    • CAN basically uses the ISO protocol model so transmitting CAN over ethernet is a no-brainer.
    • if you build something with both receivers and transmitter on the same node. The network is non-deterministic, that there is no master-slave relationship.

Most of the projects force the can into a master-slave relationship.

AND YES you could put on fiber but you need the optical transceivers. But why?

The quiz is meant to give an introduction of the new technology of SPE and it's advantage.

Just answer the question by trial and error and learn something about SPE along the way.

2.5. Multiple quiz  attempts  are  permitted  as long  as  the  entrant ultimately  gains  100%  in  score on  the  quiz and  abides  by  these  Terms.  However,  multiple  quiz  attempts  will  not  increase  an  entrant’s chance  of winning  the  prize,  as  their  100%  quiz  score  will  be  counted  as  their  one and  only  attempt.

This looks like a good standard which is going to make integration of devices so much easier if it is universally adopted but I am concerned that there are already 2 distinct alliances promoting different iterations on the standard.

I also can’t see how to leave a star rating (in Safari on an iPhone), I would give it 4/5.
