Bigger is not always better. Kinetis mini MCUs are a new category of Kinetis MCUs powered by ARM Technology and available in a variety of tiny wafer-level chip-scale packages (WLCSPs), currently starting at just 1.9 x 2 mm2.

I agree, if you really want to integrate Mcu'S into everything in the IOT, then you need a really small chip.
It is these small chips that have led to the billions of chips sold each year for just about every commercial product.
