Seiji Uchida, a Japanese adventurer, who lost the ability to walk due to a car accident two decades ago will be able to achieve his dream of visiting sites in Normandy France with the help of HAL (short for Hybrid Assistive Limb).
The suit made by Cyberdyne Inc. is designed to take nerve signals from muscles and amplify them and in turn moves the corresponding appendage on the exoskeleton. The speed in which this is done is almost instantaneous with just a fraction of a second of signal loss. HAL can also amplify the strength of the user up to a factor of ten to give the wearer the ability to lift heavy objects. The goal of the suit is to help the elderly and disabled to be able to regain mobility and independence, heavy labor, and to aid in disaster sites. Of course it could also be used by Space Marines in their effort to vanquish the Xenomorph Queen.
