I have a few projects I am working on that I would like to place in project boxs. For the most part, I use the plastic black ones. They do their job, but they look cheap and flimsy. However, I don't always use them as a complete box. At times I use half of a box just to cover some aspect of my project. This always ends up being a struggle to mount properly. I've glues them, mounted with a single bolt in the center, and affixed them with brackets. In the end they all looked jury-rigged and ugly.
I attribute that to the poor quality of the box itself for the overall messy look. I could make the box, I suppose. But after making everything else, the thought of constructing my own enclosure saps all of my will and motivation. I'm sure what I am looking for exists already, I just don't know where to get it. I need a box approximately 7-9 inches long, 2 inches wide, and about 2 inches deep. But above all, I need a better way to mount the box to a plate than glue. What would be perfect is if the box had mounting flanges on either side. I drew a picture to help illustrate what I am looking for:
I found one that has the side flangesfound one that has the side flanges, but is far too small for my purposes. But it may help inspire a better solution.
