PRESS RELEASE

Altium Europe announces Business Development Manager for Automotive

KARLSRUHE, Germany – 29 November 2010 – Altium has announced a new key role within its EMEA team to accelerate its activity in the European automotive sector. Michael Schua has been appointed Business Development Manager Automotive.

Mr Schua joined Altium in July 2007 as Corporate Account Manager Central Europe to develop Altium’s business in large automotive and industrial business segments. He is an EDA veteran with over 25 years of experience in various international sales and sales management positions in different electronic and embedded design companies. He has a degree in electrical engineering from Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Mr Schua and his team offer tailored help and expertise to the players in the European automotive market. Altium has invested in this dedicated automotive sales team to serve as a competence center in all automotive related sales and support matters.

Traditionally, the TASKING embedded tools from Altium play a very important role in the automotive ecosystem. They are heavily used in the different levels of the supply chain, starting within the OEMs and spreading into the wide market of automotive suppliers. The support needs of this business are growing as a result of the ever wider spreading usage of Altium Designer and there is a distinct need to combine and bundle expertise in both areas.

“Nobody works alone in the automotive world; everything is connected into a mesh of collaboration and shared development,” comments Michael Schua. “Altium’s unified hardware and embedded software design solutions make designing connected, intelligent, embedded devices in this environment much easier. The entire design team works on the same design files from their respective perspectives, which does away with complex design tools, making the whole design process so much easier to manage.”

Information on Altium Designer or TASKING is on Altium’s web site. More detailed information on Altium Designer is at the Altium Wiki.
