People have trying for years to be the fastest at solving Rubik’s Cube. We’ve seen people doing it blind folded and some even use their feet but a new contender has done it in only 15 seconds and it isn’t human. Zachary Grady and Joe Ridgeway, students at Rowan University, designed the ‘Rubik’s Cube-Solving Robot’ using a Siemens programmable logic controller and uses a camera to capture how the cube is scrambled and sends the images to a computer. It determines the pattern on each face and algorithms are used to solve the cube. The information is then sent to the robots pneumatic arm which adjusts each side using the information processed by the robots algorithm to solve the puzzle.
