Altium signs Alecop as new reseller in France
Alecop's focus on educational sector in France will help students to benefit from modern design approach with Altium Designer
Karlsruhe, Germany – 29 March 2012 – Altium, developer of next-generation electronics design software and services, has signed educational specialist Alecop as a new reseller in France. Under the agreement, Alecop will provide training, sales and support for Altium Designer and the NanoBoard exclusively to French educational institutions. With more than 20 years of experience selling into schools, colleges and universities, Alecop has a wealth of knowledge and excellent contacts in this sector.
Following an intensive preparation phase, Alecop and Altium decided to enter into an official partnership at the beginning of the year. The first training courses for teachers and instructors at technical schools, colleges and universities have already been drawn up. The courses introduce participants to the electronics design environment Altium Designer and the Altium NanoBoard, which together provide an easy entry point to electronics design potentially leading all the way to first prototype implementation.
Thanks to Altium Designer French students of electronics engineering can now learn all aspects of embedded systems development using a single design tool. This significantly shortens the otherwise lengthy training process in different design tools, eg for schematic capture, simulation and the integration of embedded software components. Since Altium Designer is intuitive to use, students are able to implement even complex design tasks without time-consuming preparation phases.
The NanoBoard range and Altium Designer enable students to build elaborate 'soft' processor-based systems on FPGAs without having to acquire expertise in VHDL or Verilog. Designing, testing and implementing FPGA-based embedded systems with practical applications in mind can now be a part of the student’s experience.
Xavier Martinez, representative for France, comments: "Alecop is delighted to become the ambassador of Altium solutions in the world of education within the framework of this partnership. Together we are going to enable an increasing number of educational establishments at all levels to use Altium’s professional solutions with the best possible support and pricing."
