I am planning to implement an home based self learning project to capture a still image and to extract the text in that image.
Plannig to buy a development kit for the same. Not sure which one to chose DSC or DSP.

Matlab for text extraction

LED1: to indicate if the text read from picture matches a set of words like [HELLO, hello, hi, HI, welcome, WELCOME]
LED2: to indicate if no word matches
Plan:
when dip switch is pressed, the next frame from camera module will be taken for immage processing to extract the text. The extracted text will be compared with word set and output LED's are driven.
Queries:
1. Can DSC support these sort of image processing applcaition.
Are the resources of dsPIC33E sufficient for my application?
2. kindly also suggest any other option for process ad control unit.
