Can't ID eeprom

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

IIs anyone familiar with this particular eeprom? (See attachment)

its ts salvaged from a laser printer and I can at least determine it's some type of 1-wire comm.

i can't seem to find any data based on the writing on the chip itself

2F

1001

102B3

It's address appears to be: 0xAF 0x48 0xD1 0x3F 0x40 0x1B 0x00 0x51

Yet I can't find any info on the manufacturer code 0xAF :/  Perhaps its a chinese make?

I did a digikey search for memory ICs with that footprint.  It definitely appears to be a one wire eeprom from Maxim.  The 6-tsoc package seems to be unique for this IC and manufacturer.  Now you just need to narrow down to which IC in the family you have.  You can go crazy looking through the mass of datasheets in the list below, but I would call Maxim up and cross reference the case code.  These companies are pretty receptive to these kinds of requests, and there is no harm asking.

    Thanks!

[s]After talking to a Maxim rep, it appears to be a DS2751 Multichemistry Battery Fuel Gauge (which is apparently discontinued)[/s]

Well after checking the data sheet for that device, it's not the right one lol. the DS2751 is an 8pin package :/

Dang, we were close though.  It appears Maxim has an entire line of printer specific one wire devices found here http://para.maximintegrated.com/results.mvp?fam=memory&157=1-Wire&142=Print%20Cartridge%20ID .  I bet its one of them in the tsoc-6 package.
