PCB Assembly for 3 boards

deniskoz

Hi Guys,

Thank you for this community, very helpful.

As a part of my working tasks we have to assembly 3 PCB boards. Very complex PCB boards and with Xilink on it.

Can you recommend European Assembly house or really good Asian assembly houses to make this task.

Thank you in advance for you answers.

Denis

Yes, pretty complex with several BGAs.

This is a common problem and it's why I assemble prototype boards for my clients but I can't do BGA.

Ideally you need to find a local assembler who is small enough to care about your business and who you can easily visit.

    Hi Michael,

I am located in Austria. Regarding the suppliers I have checked digikey and mouser (at least on their sites) most of devices are on stock, only this part is expensive XC6VSX475T-2FFG1156E

    https://www.i-components.fi/components/Xilinx/XC6VSX475T-2FFG1156E.html

Regarding the layout... At the moment I received only the gerber files. PCB is very complex, so it also upcoming challenge to redesign it in order to use standard manufacturers.

Local assemblers it also problematic. Most of them refuse to make prototypes.

In general we will produce around 20 different PCBs, but our product is expensive so I am not expecting to high volume production, if we reach to 10 systems in a year that will be perfect).

You can private email me at mk@mkesc.co.uk and I'll suggest some people who can do this kind of thing.

I have no idea what they would charge but they can do board design (if not too busy with their own things) and can make boards of this complexity.

You can try Seeedstudio (that's not a typo). They have an assembly service, but I'm not sure what their capabilities are.

Would you trust Seeed with  a £$4.5k FPGA image

My guess is that building three of these isn't going to leave much change out of £30k.

With something like this all choices are hard and expensive.

You can free issue the parts and run the risk that the board builder toasts a few £k in setting up, or you can pay for a complete supply service where the builder buys the parts, and know that you will be paying for 5 sets of parts + overhead of at least 20% but you won't run any risk.

    Thank you all.

Yes, my issue is the components price. 4.5K $ this is the cheapest price. Such FPGA can reach up to 12K $.

    By the way, additional question.

    Do you know this supplier?

He is too cheap to be true)).

Or can you recommend additional non-expensive component suppliers.

I know digikey and Mouser, who else is in the market?

If you are planning on using  really pricey Xilinx parts then you should establish contact with a proper franchised Xilinx distributor and talk to them about the project. You might be able to get price support.

I have never seen i-components before.
