I'm sure you all have used circuit simulation software in the past. But, how about motor simulation software. A recent design direction I am taking is farcing me to design custom motors and motor drivers, including stepper, servo, other DC, and AC induction motors. As fun as it would be to painstakingly wind and then troubleshoot my own coils, I think I would rather simulate the design.
What software exists for motor design? And more importantly, how much does it cost? Any free options?
