Anyone try anything besides encoders or potentiometers for motion feedback? If so, how did it work out?
I want to make a feedback systems, but have found encoders to be too expensive. I want high precision and low cost, like anyone would. I willing to even take a slight hit in accuracy, if the price is right. In this case, I would assume I could use math to smooth out the inaccuracies to a point where it would be negligible.
However, don't let price stop you from sharing feedback solutions with us. Every idea could lead to inspiration.
