Hi Cabe,
It's not entirely clear whether you are interested in only a software solution for embedded Speech Recognition.
But if a hardware/software solution is interesting, I'd recommend checking out www.veear.eu. The VeeaR product line includes some really nice and cost effective development tools for embedded speech recognition.
Here's one sample video of a Speech Recognition module interfaced with a Robonova-I:
Markku,
It doesn't matter if it is hardware or software.
Did you make this Robonova speech recognition test? If so, can you post a little about your work?
If not, where can I see more about this recognition project?

Hi Cabe,
This is not my project actually. You can find the write up here: http://simplycomputing.com.au/archives/103 The speech recognition for the Robonova is enabled by a module called VRbot. It was initially designed to add speech recognition to Robonova, but it can be used with virtually any host micro. The VeeaR product line also includes a more robust speech recognition dev kit - VoiceGP.
Also plenty of examples and demos can be found on the VeeaR website: www.veear.eu.
Best,
Markku
