What are you working on this weekend? 8/6/10

Us engineers are always building something. It's in our genetic makup to do so. A friend of mine is doing some PIC programming in efforts to make his own stepper driver. Myself, I plan to configure software needed to run an eleborate anolog sensing device I designed. And if I'm feeling ambitious, I will machine some parts for my paintball marker; I have to get it prepped for the near future.

How about you all?

    I am making:

    - Wooden Cabinets & Shelving (for my cousin)

    - Beer (for me)

    - Testing out some new Faulhaber brushless servo motors that have just been delivered (for robotics)

Not all electronic, but then I think variety is good image

    Robert,

Are you actually making your own beer?

If not, an impressive weekend, none the less.

Yup. With barley-malt, hops, yeast and water. Got into it about a year ago.

Good fun (especially if you like beer), and not too dificult.

Yeah, I need a good weekend - after a veerrry long week image

That analog sensing device sounds interesting. Have you posted anything about it?

    Rob

Careful with putting the yeast in, see video :

As far as my project goes, when I'm done, I plan to put up a few posts about it for sure. For now it looks likes a rat's net bolted to an instrument plate. More soon.

    Good luck this weekend.

I appear to be working on getting my Mac to talk to my EZ430-RF2500T.EZ430-RF2500T. and ez430-chonos dongles.  I had thought that I had it made when I was successfully programming my ez430-f2013, but apparently the newer dev boards do things in an entirely new way in order to handle the extra serial port provided.  Grrr.  It has not gone very well :-(

I'm afraid my home engineering is rather limited - I was always more of a thinking engineer than a hands-on engineer.  However, I do have a weakness for Lego, and at the weekend finished the third model of my latest acquisition - 6753, Car Transporter / Tow truck / Long-reach Crane.  Does that count? image

    Hi Wendy,

Building it without mistakes makes you an well appreciated engineer :-) I guess it counts... I did mine some year ago, it brings back good memories.

    Best regards, Enrico
