Need advice on my source code

Hi,

 

I'm new to microchip PIC programming, I was able to implement a source code which uses a Single press button to select colors with every press (red, green, blue and back again), Now i want to implement the same source code to implement both the same color selection and play an mp3 file from SD card, I'm using FN-M16P chip to decode the sounds, but when running the code nothing works, not even the color selection. what could be wrong? I'm using pic16f1704 chip.

  • From what you have said it sounds like you are trying to run before you can walk. A button pressing to select colours is a starting point, getting a song to play from a SD card is a good way off. I would suggest slowly building up to that point one step at a time.

    thanks for the response, I have actually succeeded in programming a button to select colours and is working fine but when try to edit the program to use FN-M16P chip, the color selection stops working and depending on how i edit the program, sometimes after 10 seconds to 2 minutes, it plays mp3 sound on its own (color selection stops working), however, I'm unable to send commands to the FN-M16P chip to skip to the next song or stop it (unless total power off), but if i disable functions for the mp3 player, color selection works, your recommendations would be much appreciated.
