License issue with TI Code Composer Studio

Question

Hi all,

I got a Launch Pad a few months ago, installed (free version of) CCS as instructed in the workbook and all was well. Recently (Sept.) I attended a TI/AVnet workshop and there we were required to install CCS4, commercial version. I uninstalled the free version of Code Composer Studio and installed the time limited full version as directed by our instructor.

At this time I am continuing with the LaunchPad and the workbook. I uninstalled the commercial version of CSS4 and reinstalled the CCS free version, but now when I start it is telling me that the license expired and gives me a few options, such as extending the evaluation period another 90 days. What can I do so that the free version of CSS does not display this license dialog? It looks like the uninstall of the commercial version left some debris behind. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Problem solved. I asked in the TIe2e community was was told the following:

1. Uninstall Code Composer Studio.

2. Download the limited (free) edtion of CCS4 from this link:

For CCS v4 the free code size limited MSP430 version is a separate download:

3. Install CCS4.

I did as indicated and this solved my problem. I compared the file that I downloaded to the file that I used to install CCS4 and they were the same, so I have no idea why I was getting the licensing dialog box. At least it looks like it is working as expected now. Regards, Salvador
