Hello, I am interest in making an embeded device with which I can make my job, security guard, a little bit more effiecent. Basicly I would like to have a device that can help me create better and more complete logs. Below I have a list of features I would like to implement into the device.
1. Door logging (Basic Logging of the Doors Being locked through user input as well as door logging and auto detection through GPS)
2. Path Logging (Basic Logging of the path patroled polling rate of ~10-15sec and the ability to pull up path at a later date through and API such as google maps, logging through use of GPS)
3. Incident Reporting (Automatic logging of incident through location data, may it be an unlocked door or an incident in the parking lot)
4. Path Assistance (Generation of path or randomized path with the ability to check the route on my laptop.)
5. Auto Retreival of information (Ability to automaticly store information onto my laptop when connected)
6. Battery Life ~10hr (Not manditory but it would be nice as my shift lasts for 8hrs and I would like to not have to charge it during my shift)
7. The ability to have the Data encrypted would be nice but not manditory.
Basic prereqs for the device from what I gather, correct me if I am wrong.
1. Microcontroller as brains of the device
2. GPS for location data and RTC functionality.
3. Battery for remote opperation.
4. Some sort of interface through pushbuttons or something similar.
5. SD Card for storing log data.
