    Hi Nishanth,

This is a complicated thing to start off with, if you're new to electronics. Such a display may need custom software too.

Perhaps something like a BeagleBone Black connected to an existing LCD board (search for "BB view") may be easier. But you'd

still need to find appropriate media player software and your own software to handle button presses.

You'd also need a custom board or wiring to your switches.

    Hi Nishanth,

if you are a beginner i will not suggest you to take on such a complicated project, i will suggest you to start with Arduino UNO like i did, start from small projects you will learn on the way, Arduino has such a large community behind it that all of your confusions will be solved, element14 also has a very good Arduino Community with experts, you can also watch and learn about Arduino on YouTube.

Thank you everyone........ I very much like your suggestions.......

First i want tell something that........

I am student studying masters in U.K. I going to stay in U.K only few more months. In this time i want make a product. For that product i need this "GLCD Player" very badly. Without this "GLCD Player" my product will loose its value a lot.

I am trying to do this "GLCD PLAYER" very hardly....... But i found that this one complex.

So please give me any suggestion.... My considerations/doubts

    1. Is this project very complex?

    2. What is the best way to make it happen?

3.Can i go for any freelancer or a company?

4.Do we got any glcd video players on the market? (I searched a lot for this kind of products. Some of china toys are similar but they are not what i wanted)

    5. Do we got any kits for this kind of things?

    Please help me......

    Hi Nishanth,

How about something like this, you could remove it from the case and use the circuitry.

It does AVI files apparently, and has push-buttons, so you may be able to hack this. But you'll be restricted to its existing functionality - so you'd just have to work with whatever each button on it currently does. It is a relatively quick and easy solution.

There are dev boards with graphic displays like this one but you'd need to have some Linux experience to use them, and I don't know what level of experience you have.

A cheaper option than that dev board would be BeagleBone Black and an BB-View board as mentioned, but again you'd need a bit of Linux experience - not much. Probably you'd want to search for some open source video player, and create some kind of script to call the video player based on some button press. See here for some example code to give you ideas.

Here is how to detect button presses in Python on the BBB. Then, use it to call the video player software of your choice as in the earlier example.

    Hi Nishanth,

You can also try this with BeagleBone Black ans its LCD Cape view it HERE. You will be able to add as many buttons with the BBB. And the LCD also has touch screen so you can add that feature. And yes it will be a little difficult, but BBB has good community support, so you will get help easily... Best Of Luck...
