Idea for bachelor thesis

Hi,

I'm thinking about my bachelor thesis (computer science, digital logic) I would love to do own linux board (probably imx233 based on olimex design) i had idea about a logic analyser based on linux. But it would be nice to do something which will last (as opensource project?), something useful even for other people. Who will help me with some brainstorming?

If you could let us know more about the parameters for your project, then we can provide a lot of interesting ideas for you to consider.
Please identify the project goals, evaluation issues, range and scope of project and any limitations imposed upon the project.

Well i dont have any, i study ICT so it should be more about software&firmware/fpga design. I have two years time. And as i said i would love to do my own linux board but i want something with purpose.
