Accelerometer to PIC, easy setup

Catwell
Catwell over 15 years ago
Adding an accelerometer to a device makes it modern, high tech, and fun to play with. Using one seemed intimidating to me, though I never investigated the issue. But in my internet travels I found a simple schematic giving a PIC processor one axis of feedback, with only 3 wires!

You can find more information at Analog Device's homepage for the ADXL320 Accelerometer.

Now, imagination is the limit. How could you use an accelerometer?

    Hi,Cable

Accelerometer include a G-sensor that it can mearsue G-acceleration.when you move  Accelerometer .Accelerometer can output change G data .

you can depand on these data to complete your function.

In fact ,using a Accelerometer,we need create a new ideal that is different than traditional ideal.eg,more and more Young man use new function Mobile  eg:Screen Scroll & Menu selection & Game in hand. of course,Accelermoter have been used Automotive security system and IR test distance.....many many application is being used Accelerometer.

    thanks

    Hi Cabe,

You are really a genius. You give me a lot of ideas to work on. you definitely help me to scratch my grey cells. Thanks for it.

You may use this reference design to secure your farm with an intruder alarm.

    Great ideas,

    Thomas.

    Hi,

If you want to get started fast with PIC + accelerometers, there are 2 existing PIC based development kits that do include 3 accelerometers :

    * MPLAB Starter Kit for PIC18F MCU which include the PIC18F46J50 (12 MIPS)

    * MPLAB Starter Kit for PIC24H MCU which include the PIC24HJ128GP504 (40 MIPS)

    regards
