MCU io port simulates i2c control TMP100 to read temperature

I have a few questions about the timing diagram

1. If you don’t configure it, just go to read it, is it not successful?
2. What's the matter with D7-D0 in the write sequence? I feel that tmp101 should be configured to alarm, is it not necessary to write
Now I read it all 11111111... . .

    Hi,

     

    1.  Yes you should be able to read a temperature from it without configuring it.

    2.  The link provided goes to a Utmel Electronics product page for the TMP100, there is no timing diagram to look at. If you are reading all ones back it probably

         means that the that the device did not see proper I2C timing or data and you are not reading the temperature register. Also it would be useful to know how the

         ADD0 pin is configured (pulled up, pulled down, or not connected) to make sure you are using the correct I2C address.
