Hi, I'm looking for a single chip AGC solution for a microphone. So far I could find the MAX9814ETD+TMAX9814ETD+T, but don't like the TDFN package. SSM2216 and THAT 43xx are too expensive. Any other ideas? Thanks!

    Hello Sukandar,

Please accept my apologies.  Somehow I missed getting your original post question.

If the application is just a standalone microphone amplifier, the Maxim part is a fine choice.  But since you don't like the package, maybe you are adventurous enough to build up a Mic AGC amp from op-amp type parts.  I don't know the microphone type you are using, but you might find the circuit at the following URL -  http://www.techlib.com/area_50/PTM/audio.htm#AGC  - useful.

While you could use the TI parts, another excellent choice for really low noise applications would be the National LME series, and in this case, most likely the LME49710  -   http://www.national.com/pf/LM/LME49710.html#Overview  -  available in SOIC, DIP, or harder to get TO-99 can packages.

An alternative could also be the LM4562 in the same type of packages.

Newark/Element 14 carry both in stock.

    Sorry for the late reply.

    Ken
