This is just an example, but I have a very specific membrane that I need to reconditnion.

I am wanting to know if anyone has any experience reconditioning this type of contacts.

I have made dew by using gold leaf, and glueing it on, and also by using graphite to make the contacts conductive again. both worked, but only temporarily.

I am looking for a more permanent solution.

Any advice?

  • I think there are some conductive paints, but I've no idea how long term such a fix would be.

     

    The old remote control pads used to lose their conductivity but I didn't think modern ones did as much over time. That could be an option - take a newer remote control for a product that you're about to discard, and slice off the pads with a sharp scalpel (if you don't have a remote control to discard then you could just buy some some remote control pads from ebay, they seem popular spares for game console controllers etc., and then take a scalpel to those.), do the same to the current one and then join with glue. Might have to be careful not to get the glue on the surface of course. Something like impact adhesive maybe, which is dried on first.
