Good question.  I was a bit surprised to be perfectly honest.  But, I can sort of see what they are trying to do.  It'll be interesting to see how the market takes to it - the most important thing for TE is to make sure they keep their customers fully informed at every step, to make sure they don't lose any on the journey.  Of course, it's difficult for me to give an unbiased opinion - as we are partially a competitor, we'd be happy to try and help any lost customers image.  It would be interesting to hear the opinion of any Tyco employees as well.

Seems that it has gone live today.  Just visited the previous Tyco Electronics website and it is now TE Connectivity.  What is the reaction from the community?  Any ideas from anyone?

Yes, we change name from Tyco Electronics to TE Connectivity officially on 10 March.  Visit our webpage at www.te.com and watch our company video, TE is not only product, but a better partner, a better place to work.  I love TE Connectivity.
