Differential Op-Amps

I want to design a circuit that using a differential op-amp. I understand how they work I am just having trouble selecting a part. A friend of mine suggested the AD620 but I am not sure if this part is a differential op-amp. I guess my question is can any op-amp be used as a differential op-amp or are there specific op-amps on the market that are differential by design?
