for running EAGLE version 6 on Linux we request the following system requirements:
- Linux based on kernel 2.6 for Intel computers
- X11 with a minimum color depth of 8 bpp
- 32-bit runtime environment with the following libraries:
* libpng14.so.14
* libssl.so.1.0.0
* libcrypto.so.1.0.0
* libjpeg.so.8
It can happen that these libraries are not available on the Linux distribution you are using. If this is the case, you have to look for the missing library files. They are available in the internet from different sources.
The easiest way to get EAGLE running is to simply copy these files into your system's lib directory which is /usr/lib or maybe /usr/lib32. Now you are able to run the install script and the EAGLE program. There is no further action necessary.
By the way:
If you don't find the libraries in the web, simply drop an email to Cadsoft Support -- support @ cadsoft.de -- They can give you information about where to look for.
Have fun.
