Windows 7 didn't include terminal emulation software (like Hyperterm), so I guess this is the next logical step
. I find it hard to believe Windows 8 doesn't support serial ports at all, but then I found it hard to believe that Windows 7 "Professional" didn't have terminal emulation. I'd follow edison's advice.

I just got windows 8 one month ago and I never suspected they would get rid of ports. I hope there is a fix for the problem. I just converted from Windows 7 too.
