Help with DAC0830!

Hi to all element 14 members. This is my first official question on this site. So long story short.... I am using Atmel's Atmega32 to drive a DAC0830 and I was browsing the web for some kind of guide but there is nothing helpful. So can anyone PLEASE tell me how a DAC must be driven, or even better if someone would send me already configured C library.

Yes I had but I can 't quite understand the timing and pulsing, I'm kinda newbie Please simplify it to me so I can understand it.

Disclaimer: I've never used this DAC. This is all my deduction from the datasheet.

Depends if you want to double buffer or not. I find Figure 6 from the datasheet the easiest to deduce the functioning.

Writing:
1. ILE - Input latch enable needs to be set high
2. /CS - Chip select needs to be pulled low
3. Put the data on the data lines.
4. Pull /WR1 low and release after a time.

This gets the data into the 8-bit input register. The data should be in the 8-bit DAC register. Pull /XFER and /WR2 low to transfer to the 8-bit multiplying DAC.

Besides all that, it would appear typical applications require an op-amp and you'll need a reference voltage of course.
