power with accumulator - safe for wrong wiering accumulator

Hi,

I want to make a cicuit for 1, using accumulator to power, 2. charge this accumulator, 3. if wiering wrong to accumulator, the circuit will safe, and the accumulator also, and the charger also.

What can I do?

They have not been called accumulators for a long time, can you be more specific as to what kind of Battery are you referring LIPO, NiCAD, LEAD ACID, Other ? , the power your going to connect to it, the load you going to use etc. A picture of what you intend to build will also help if possible
