Arduino host?

So, i was thinking, is ther a posebility for a arduino to act like a host for a usb device, and use it? just like the usb device wouth think it was connected to a computer

Lets say a usb audo card as an example. Can a arduino use the audio card some way?

  • You can obtain USB host shields for arduinos which support HID devices, game controllers, memory sticks, and Bluetooth dongles etc. but they might not support some of the heavier USB devices like audio and video dongles. Some of the more powerful ARM based arduinos sch as the Arduino Due should eventually be able to handle more advanced USB peripherals (once software drivers are written).
