Virtual Reality Controller

Former Member

I have developed and patented a new controller that bridges the gap between standard controllers and the Virtual Reality controllers of the future. It has had overwhelmingmy positive responses so far on Facebook ( Www.facebook.com/virgevr ).

Now I do not know if this is the right type of question for here but I hope it can help. I am trying to figure out ways of contacting companies and be taken serious. Microsoft doesn't take unsolicited product development ideas. And I imagine Sony to be the same way. I have approached MadCatz and haven't been called back. I can easily take it to market on Windows. It works great with a few things to iron out. I have played Bioshock with it for a while. Problem being it would be way better marketed to consoles. How do I get past the propriety signals for the consoles, legitimately. Is there a certain route I need to take or are consoles a loss for me?

That is like a proper way to transverse a minefield. No matter what you do the results are too often fatal. Unless you Wow someone that matters, big companies will not react well especially knocking on…

I am sorry if I put little faith in a statement like this, but a google search bears little evidence to that statement.

Not accustomed to searching parents, this is my first patent. However I do have a provisional patent filed. Maybe I was accidentally misleading, but it is a patent.

Since June 8, 1995, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has offered inventors the option of filing a provisional application for patent which was designed to provide a lower-cost first patent filing in the United States and to give U.S. applicants parity with foreign applicants under the GATT Uruguay Round Agreements.

A provisional application for patent (provisional application) is a U.S. national application filed in the USPTO under 35 U.S.C. §111(b). A provisional application is not required to have a formal patent claim or an oath or declaration. Provisional applications also should not include any information disclosure (prior art) statement since provisional applications are not examined. A provisional application provides the means to establish an early effective filing date in a later filed nonprovisional patent application filed under 35 U.S.C. §111(a). It also allows the term "Patent Pending" to be applied in connection with the description of the invention.

A provisional application for patent has a pendency lasting 12 months from the date the provisional application is filed. The 12-month pendency period cannot be extended.

Therefore, an applicant who files a provisional application must file a corresponding nonprovisional application for patent (nonprovisional application) during the 12-month pendency period of the provisional application in order to benefit from the earlier filing of the provisional application. However, a nonprovisional application that was filed more than 12 months after the filing date of the provisional application, but within 14 months after the filing date of the provisional application, may have the benefit of the provisional application restored by filing a grantable petition (including a statement that the delay in filing the nonprovisional application was unintentional and the required petition fee) to restore the benefit under 37 CFR 1.78

Okay, you may have a "Patent Pending" that sets a date and has not been examined. Since I see many Virtual Reality patents by Microsoft, Google, Apple. Facebook, and Nike(really!image). you may want to see those to verify your design does not infringe. I suppose you spent some money without searching before hand. You should check them out.

I Went through a patent lawyer and did a patent search. After the search we felt confident in our decision
