Which Micro Usb Type B to purchase for repairing my Broken one on Cheap Chinese Tablet?

Hello, to whom it may concern
I have already sent a message in chat as it was unavailable at time of writing but here I go again, oh and Hello to all and thank you in advance
for any help. I like to dabble here and there in elctronics and if I can repair something that is broken rather than than throw it out! i do this as a hobby and dont claim to know a heck of alot. My question to you is what type (correct type) of type B micro usb should I purchase to replace and repair the broken one on my childs cheap chinese tablet. It was actually wolking fine until the cheap parts just snapped when they clearly must have applied too much brute force when jamming the end of the micro usb into the charging port and snapped off the little plastic bit that has the 5 terminals (I think thats what you call them) on it. So I had a go at fixing it but the whole recptacle has now come off the motherboard. will it be just as simple to buy a new receptacle, clean off the old solder and resolder it on? And also which type to buy. I think mine is bottom mounted but dont know what SMT or through hole shelltail means. Anyone have any good detailed pictures so I can tell the difference? Thank you again and look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi infinitekiff
    Here, Check the Picture..
    image

SMT is surface mount technology and have copper traces on same side of the PCB where components are soldered as you can clearly see on the left pic while in through hole, components are soldered on the other side of the copper traces (on the back)..

Thanks Mudz, very good picture, where did you find that? Btw mine is bottom

mounted, it's the charging port from one of those cheap shitty Chinese

tablets. When i say shitty im talking about the cheap components, the

tablet itself would actually work fine if it just held together for longer

than 2 days! The 5 pin plastic thing that sits inside the receptacle is

what snapped off and i now want to replace it so i can charge and actually

use the tablet. If i had an old phone or tablet and found that it also has

a bottom mounted receptacle, could i salvage that and use it in the place

of the broken one or should i just replace it with a complete new one?

Seems like such a mission to order one teeny weeny component like a micro

usb? Should i send a picture of what mine looks like? Thanks again

    Thanks Clem57

I think it may be through hole as it's mounted to the underside of the pcb

not the top making it really awkward. Going to have to remove the whole

board and flip it over to reattach the replacement receptacle. Will a

salvaged port from a mobile phone or another tablet work or am i going to

have to make the effort and order one in brand new? Seems silly for one

    tiny component? Thanks again

You know, in this era you can find your own picture on google. image
I know how you feeling about these cheap Chinese tablets. Last year I also visited china and purchased three of those tablets and one smartphone. Two tablets were typically Chinese and other two are Samsung originals. The Chinese things isn't working. This Chinese tablet are like a angry wife does not let me touch it or use any app & the only thing it does is " it hangs". The funny thing is no matter how long you press the power button it does not shut down, So to bring it back to life I have to remove the back cover and short those battery terminals image. Now I have found a reset button on the PCB..

Yes you can use micro usb connector from other devices but it should be same. It will be better if you show us picture of your tablet & what it looks like? This is not a big deal you can go to any mobile repair shop and get it soldered they always have those connectors. If you are hobbyist you can buy one from them and try to solder it yourself. Also you can buy it online if you could not found it nearby. better buy two of those..
