Is this antenna compatible?

I purchased INTERNAL GPS antenna of cooking Hacks for FONA 808 module. the module has a UFl connector on which the antenna fits snugly. Problem is I am able to fix satellite even waiting 30mins

I have tried every where.... Even on the terrace! no signal.

Please suggest.

Agree. likely there was no examination of the product datasheet if an active antenna was purchased by mistake. And equally unlikely that an antenna could be built and tested with similar levels of examination…

Probably not.. why didn't you use the recommended one on the adafruit page?

The adafruit one is passive, whereas the cookinghacks one is active. The latter need a power source (usually inline from the receiver module although with difficulty there are other solutions).

You'd have to check the adafruit module documentation (or ask adafruit, since they sold it to you) to find out if it supports an active antenna.

GPS modules do not have as demanding antenna requirements any more like they used to, and the active one could be used too, but getting the correct parts and solder them will likely be hard for the poster, when instead a more suitable antenna could be purchased.
