A little thought provoking for the weekend warrior. I read an article about physics where they reported to stop light.
In a nutshell, some dudes in Germany (Georg Heinze, Christian Hubrich, and Thomas Halfmann) have found a method to shoot a pulse of light, “stop” that light for about a minute and then get the light going again, using “Electromagnetically Induced Transparency” (EIT). It’s not important to know what EIT involves.

What was more important was not the physics part that is way interesting in itself, but the conclusion. The storing of light and the quantum information can be applied to the computer field as well. See picture to understand why. When can I get one of these quantum computers?
