I am using flow sensors for my company projects where we are handling drinking water. Mostly for remote monitoring in domestic pipe sizes.
Sometimes I use flow meters and sometimes just a simple switch is suffice.
However, having purchased the sensors from Farnell for the last couple of years, our customers are now asking for the WRAS approval certificates
or at least a certificate numbers.
This is the last product I purchased: FS15A CYNERGY3, Flow Switch, FS Series, 0.3 to 2 l/min
Farnell state it is clearly WRAS approved and also the manufacturer (Cynergy3) is claiming they're WRAS approved on their website.
The WRAS approval directory is publicly available and lists all WRAS approved products.... seems to be very well updated as I have seen products
disappear quickly once the WRAS approval has lapsed.
It would seem that from doing extensive research (all costing me money) that Farnell have no Flow Sensors or Flow Switches in their range that are WRAS approved !???
Has anyone experienced this ? Some feedback from Farnell themselves would be great !tech_content
