Hi!
I am working on a longer term project and eventually when I finish all of the prototyping, I would love to make a custom PCB for it. I have some experience working with standard PCB-s but for the purpose of this project I would like to use a flexible PCB if possible. The PCB is supposed to be located on the backside of a glove, if nothing, I can do it with a standard PCB, but a flexible one seems like a better option. So I have a couple of questions for anyone that has any experience with working with flexible PCB-s or generally PCB manufacturing/prototyping:
- What are some things that I need to consider when designing a flexible PCB (General tips, stress on the components and stuff like that)?
- How rugged and durable are flexible PCB-s compared to standard ones?
- Any recommendations for PCB manufacturers and what's the difference in cost between flexible and normal 2 layer PCB-s for example (size in the neighborhood of 6x6cm)?
- Any other tips/pros/cons and generally comparison with standard PCB-s
