Operating Temperature

Hi Sir,

can any pls tell us what is the operating temperature for Part No: STTH110A (STMICROELECTRONICS Diode)

    It's in the datasheet: Maximum operating junction temperature: +175 °C.

    Razvan has pointed out that the data sheet tells you the max operating junction temperature.

     

    This is a power diode - the maximum ambient temperature will depend on how you get the heat out of the part and the current through it.

     

    You will need to do your own calculations based on the design of your board etc.

     

    Almost certainly you will need to do some actual measurements..

     

    The data sheet does not tell you the minimum operating temperature  - if you will really need to work down to -50C perhaps you should contact ST directly or measure what it does.

    It will soon warm up so it won't spend long at -50.

     

    If you are building  a safetey critical system that must function predictably and reliably over an extended temperature range you should think about buying a better specified diode (which will, cost  a lot more.)
