Hi there,
What is it you would like to know? Element14 is basically a social media site linked to Premier Farnell and its subsidiary companies (i.e. Newark), designed to help engineers with crowd-sourcing their problems in a forum of like-minded people. The site also gives access to many of the suppliers that sell through the Farnell group, enabling you to access their "experts" (like myself), and ask questions about their products and technology.
By working together and crowd-sourcing problems, we can hopefully access useful information and solve problems faster and easier than just using general web searches. You can also give back to this friendly community by helping other people with their questions! 
The menus at the top will give you access to particular discussion groups and design tools. Take some time and look around, and welcome to the forum!
