RoHS/RoHS2: Exemption versus Compliance

If RoHS or RoHS2 exemption can be claimed for a product or article, does this mean that the product/article is RoHS/RoHS2 compliant?

Technically yes however with the changing in the amounts allowed and some expiring something that was once considered compliant could become non-compliant. This is why we classify them as Yes with Exemption (Yes-X) so that way we can trace down the parts that are effected easily.

Also in the future you might want to check out the Electronic Legislation Page which then can then get you to the RoHS Legislation page. There are links to our experts in the different categories and lots of documents about the different legislation.
