Voltage Doubler

I've run into a bit of a snag on a project at work. In trying to fit a torque sensor to our product, I will need to up the input voltage from 4.9VDC to 9-12VDC at 48-88mA.

To complicate matters further, I have a very small space to work with.

Since time is of the essence, I am open to ANY suggestions.

    You could make a voltage doubler with just a few capacitors and diodes.  Shouldnt take up much space. Check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltage_doubler

    The output is rated at 205.85mV/N.m

    Force and torque sensors typically have outputs rated in mV/V.

     

    We actually use this torque sensor with another one of our products. I am fairly certain I was able to isolate the voltage doubler and voltage divider circuits from the original application and adapted it to this new application. I won't know until it goes for calibration. Its getting pretty tough to trace out a circuit without a schematic these days.
