Gertboard GPIO C Software

I have a Gertboard and have downloaded the test software. The Python Tests work OK, but the c software does not. I have used the Make All several times and it seems to work OK, but when I run sudo ./leds I get -

sudo: ./leds: command not found.

The file manager shows the file as executable.

What am I missing?

I was building it on a USB memory stick. It does not have permisions to run executables. I am still trying to find out how I can give it permission. I can run the files if I build them on the desktop!

Ralph,
   The error appears to be that the executable "leds" is not in your
current working directory. You could verify that by doing
     ls -lt ./leds
which should either find it or say it's not found.

If ls finds it, show us the output, which will indicate whether it's executable.

Have you changed your current working directory (using the cd command)
to be the directory where the USB files are? If not, that would explain it.

If the problem really is with executable permissions, you can make a file
executable by typing
    chmod +x some_file_name
if some_file_name is in your current working directory.

You can show your current working directory by typing pwd.

you are probably mounting the usb stick with noexec as an option.

Google arount for options available for the mount command and remount accordingly.

Thanks all. I created a new file in the pi folder. I changed the makefile on the usb stick to put the executables into the folder in the pi folder and then I could run them. I have not found a way to make them executable from the usb stick yet. I'll persevere.
