Help | Optical Fingerprint Sensor

Good Day,

 

     A few days ago my boss had a Biometric Time & Attendance Machine sent for disposal, asked him what was wrong with it, turns out the lcd is burned out, so I salvaged the optical fingerprint sensor from the unit and a few more items. Is there anyway I can interface / connect this one with an arduino? P. S. Those pictures were just a few shots I took to give you an idea how this module looks like and with some research about adafruit optical finger print scanner, I realized that the only thing they did was add an extension board to convert those pins to output to 4pins here is ladyadas tutorial on the Adafruit Optical Fingerprint Sensor (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-optical-fingerprint-sensor) .

    The unit that LadyAda sells looks like it has a serial interface connector built-in - they just add a 4-wire cable.

    Your device looks different but almost all of these types of scanner use serial interfaces. Quite a few have an external card that implement the serial interface. Were there other cards in the machine you took apart? Some of the datasheets for these devices document their interface pinout - do you have a manufacturer's name and model number for the device?

    The manufacturer of the Time & Attendance Machine looked like they made a custom chip for it it was a MULTiBiO 400 (ZKSoftware) it was also driving lcd and a usb host. If I were to judge the chip, it would be basically an ARM Microprocessor. P.S. There are no such datasheets for this one, also if there were it would be in Chinese.
