Touchscreen Display - How to test it?

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

I just got a brand new 7" Touchscreen Display. However, it doesn't seem to be working.

I have unplug it and plug it all of the connectors a bunch of times But so far there hasn't even been a little signal.

I can see that it can power the raspberry pi, both using the jumper cables as well as the USB.

Is there anything I should look for before assuming that it was dead on arrival?

Thank You.

There are some commands to type to update your drivers, it is not plug-and-play until that task is complete.

    Hello Shabaz,

Thank you for your quick reply. I am trying to use windows 10 IoT. Have you tried this?

Is there a set of commands/updates for Win 10 that are required? Will it work?

    Once again thank you.

    Hi Paulo,

As I understand, only some peripherals are supported with Win 10 IOT. Unfortunately I don't know if the display is supported - I suspect not, since it is so new.

But perhaps the Raspberry Pi org supplied early hardware to Microsoft or worked on drivers for it. This is just speculation though : (

I think the DOA assumption needs confirming with a known working setup, and today most users will have tested with Raspbian unfortunately.

you will find quite a few Windows 10 IoT projects by me and many others here http://www.element14.com/community/community/raspberry-pi

    Dear Mr. Oakes,

I too am eager to get drivers and/or configuration code so that IOT can be viewed on a Raspberry Pi 7-in touchscreen display. I am extremely new to this field but I have successfully displayed Raspbian on a monitor through HDMI and a 3.5 in PiTFT display attached directly to the R Pi . I tried to use the method put forth by http://blog.falafel.com/setting-up-a-7-inch-touchscreen-on-a-pi-2-with-windows-iot-core-insider-preview/ but realized his decoder/converter was not the exact hardware as that on the Raspberry PI Brand. Nothing has worked to display IOT on the Raspberry Pi touchscreen to date. I appreciate any help you can give me and thank you for you input. Frank.
