Capacitor Help !!!

Hello all. Was sent here from Farnell. I seem to be having a problem finding out what part number I am working with on this capacitor. I can't find a part number and I need to replace this thing. Only markings on the capacitor are on the top. They are 3R 470 ELA . This capacitor is on an Hewlett Packard laptop motherboard. If there is anyone out there that can tell me the technical aspects of this thing so I can order one from wherever, it would be greatly appreciated. image

    Hi John,  Michael is correct to question whether your component has failed as it is not a likely failure point. Most of the time these only fail as a result of voltage problems in the circuit which would entail other components as well. Convention would indicate as Michael stated that it is a 470 uF. You can estimate the voltage by tracing the leads back to Vcc or to a regulator to see what voltages are involved and then give yourself some extra voltage for tolerance. If nothing else the voltage of the laptop battery would indicate the max system voltage that is likely to be involved. I looked on a bunch of my salvage boards to see if I could find anything with similar markings but all of my components had a voltage where yours has the ELA.
